The Beach

Hidden Valley property owners in good standing are privileged to have access to a beautiful beach area on the shores of Peninsula Lake. We share this beach area with members of the Muskoka Ski Club, and jointly participate in upkeep and maintenance of the beach area.

Amenities at the beach include:

  • Raft and a designated swimming area marked with buoys
  • Sand beach with lounge chairs
  • Toy box with shared beach toys
  • Picnic area with picnic tables
  • Playground and Play Structure
  • Beach volleyball court (please bring your own volleyball)
  • Racks for canoes and kayaks (rentable from the Ski Club)
  • Two port-a-potties
  • Swimming Dock
  • A Boat Launch

Beach and Recreational Area Rules

The MSC Beach is for the exclusive use of Members in good standing of the Muskoka Ski Club and the Hidden Valley Property Owners Association.

  1. The swimming area is unsupervised – use at your own risk.
  2. Please respect the privacy and personal space of other users. Keep loud talking to a minimum and do not allow activities to infringe upon other person/group’s picnic areas.
  3. Please use garbage containers provided. All glass containers must remain in coolers.
  4. No dumping of household garbage in refuse containers at the beach area.
  5. No one group of people shall dominate any area to the detriment of others.
  6. No dogs are allowed on the beach or in the picnic area except service dogs.
  7. No overnight camping. No use of the area after 11:00 pm.
  8. No smoking is permitted on the Beach, in the recreation area and on the docks.
  9. Parking is ONLY allowed in the designated areas. NO PARKING is allowed near the dock or boat launch areas. Vehicles will be towed at owner’s expense.
  10. Trailers may not be stored at the beach.
  11. Non-motorized boats may be stored in the designated storage area to the west of the break wall. Storage space is based on a first come first serve basis.
  12. Non-motorized boat storage is for seasonal use only until Oct 31st. No boats on the ground. Any boats left in storage area after October 31 may be considered abandoned and removed from the property.
  13. The Ontario Provincial Police have requested that all non-motorized boats have identification on them which includes the owner’s name and contact phone number.
  14. No motorized boats are allowed on the beach or near the swim platform (raft). Absolutely no docking is allowed on the swim platform.
  15. No motorized vehicles such as motorbikes or ATVs are allowed on the beach, in the recreation area or on the boat docks.

Additional Notes

All persons may be queried as to their right to use the facilities based on a regularly updated membership list of the MSC and HVPOA.

Unauthorized users, or anyone found misusing the facility or abusing beach area rules will be advised and, if necessary asked to leave the area. Incidents will be reported to the MSC & HVPOA and may result in the suspension of the use of the facilities.

All MSC/HVPOA members are responsible for their guests and/or renters while they use the beach facilities. Inappropriate use by guests/renters may have the same result as above.

HVPOA or MSC may decide to put controls in place (lock, carding) to limit abuse of the beach.

Please report any broken rules or acts of vandalism to the MSC or HVPOA executive. The MSC and HVPOA appreciate your concern and cooperation.

The beach may be rented for larger group events, provided that above rules are followed by the event group.
